Greetings from the Eta Chapter, Inc. of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Incorporated
It is with great pride and purpose that we welcome you to the official website of the Eta Chapter of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Incorporated. Chartered on November 19, 1939, in Norfolk, Virginia. Eta Chapter remains steadfast in its commitment to the founding principles of our esteemed organization: to elevate the plane of nursing and to increase interest in the nursing profession. We are honored to continue this legacy under our enduring motto, “Service for Humanity.”
Eta Chapter, the fourth graduate chapter of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Incorporated, was established at Norfolk Community Hospital by sixteen courageous registered nurses. These visionary pioneers were trailblazers in their fields, the first of their race to hold key positions, and recognized as among the most outstanding in the region and nation. They laid a strong foundation of excellence, resilience, and leadership that we proudly uphold today.
As the current Chapter President, I am deeply honored to serve alongside an exceptional circle of gifted professional nurses, whose unwavering dedication reflects the bold vision set forth by our Founders on October 16, 1932. With hearts anchored in service and hands guided by purpose, we continue to uphold their legacy with grace, integrity, and resolve.
We proudly have a focused and intentional agenda to Educate, Engage, Elevate, and Empower not only within the nursing profession and among our members, but also throughout the communities we so faithfully serve. Eta Chapter steadfastly upholds its commitment to fostering a meaningful and enduring impact that exemplifies the mission and spirit of our organization. This is accomplished through the provision of scholarships for aspiring nursing students, humanitarians, and community leaders. We are dedicated to community health outreach service by working with seniors, involvement in youth programs, and health education on disease prevention and health promotion.
As an active and proud chapter of the Northeast Region, Eta Chapter continues to champion nursing excellence, foster strong community partnerships, and inspire the next generation of nurses and health advocates with purpose and passion.
Thank you for visiting our website. We invite you to explore our history and work, connect with our programs, and join us in our continued journey of service and empowerment. Please feel free to contact us.
